Alfred Lunt was an American stage actor and director who, with his wife Lynn Fontanne, became one of the most celebrated theatrical partnerships of the 20th century. Their collaborative performances on Broadway and the West End made them internationally known as "the Lunts." He was born on August 12, 1892, and died on August 3, 1977.
