I wanted to go into prison and come out a better person - mentally, physically. So, I read a lot of books, got my GED while I was in there, and worked out every day. Strong body, strong mind.

My dad was tough on me growing up so I got a strong mind, strong spirit. So my mom and my dad did a good job of bringing me up and preparing me for different things in life and showing me not just football but life. That's why I handled everything so well it's because of them.

There are very few dance companies in the world and you have to be phenomenal. You have to not be injured. You have to have a really strong mind to deal with the dance world. People who can do it are amazing to me. You cannot have a life outside of dance.

I just have a really strong mind and I just believe in myself a lot.

I developed a mechanism so that whatever mistakes I made, I would bounce straight back. Whatever was happening off the pitch, I could put it to one side and maintain my form. Call it mental resilience or a strong mind, but that is what we mean when we talk about experience in a football team.
